Rain Song for Kids

Autumn (Fall) is always considered to be a rainy season. Many people associate rain with a gloomy, sad weather when nobody has a desire to go outside. In my song I disagree with this opinion. The boy who is singing the song (as seen in the video below) personifies all children’s spontaneity and confidence in the future. He is happy in spite of any bad weather and any such troubles. That’s why teaching children and working close with them is an exciting and inspiring profession.

I wrote this rain song in one of such gloomy autumn days but I think it can be used also in spring and summer to learn the weather vocabulary.

I Am not Afraid of Rain
(Song Lyrics)

I am not afraid of rain,
‘Cause I have a big umbrella.
Outside the whole day
I will play in any weather.
In the rain I’m gonna walk
Let people say at home it’s better,
I will listen to the raindrops talk
Petter-patter, Petter-patter, Petter-patter.

As always, I would like to suggest  you a few worksheets to practice rainy weather vocabulary with your own children as well as students.

Worksheet 1: In this task children should match the rain vocabulary with the corresponding pictures in order to remember words on the tipic.

Cucumber Paper Crafts

Today I would like to present a cucumber paper craft which can be used in connection with many topics while learning English. You can speak with your pupils about wholesome food because cucumbers are considered to be very healthy and refreshing. Ask your pupils to remember what they know about this vegetable. Give them the information that cucumbers consist of 95% water. It means that we should eat these yummy green vegetables during hot summer days to keep ourselves hydrated. In winter preserved cucumbers, or pickles, are also used in many countries of the world as a wonderful component in winter dishes. So cucumbers are very important vegetables full of vitamins and microelements necessary for our body.

This craft goes with my vegies song:

Farm Animals Song for Kids

Animals are always an interesting topic for children especially those of younger age. Animal characters have been surrounding kids since almost birthday. That is why farm animals are likely to be an exciting thing for kids learning English in your classroom. It’s always stimulating to introduce funny animals in the process of education and overall development of communication abilities. There are a lot of fun game opportunities to develop language skills and imagination.

Farm Animals Song Lyrics

It’s a wonderful day!
Let’s go to the farm!

Hi, little cow! How are you?
I am fine, thank you.
The sun is so bright. The sky is so blue.
The grass is so green. Moo, moo, moo.

Hi, little duck! How are you?
I am fine, thank you.
What are you doing there in the lake?
I am swimming. Quack, quack, quack.

Hi, little horse! How are you?
I am great, thank you.
Would you like some fresh tasty hay?
Oh, with pleasure! Neigh, neigh.

Hi, little sheep! How are you?
I am fine, thank you.
What are you doing next to the barn?
I’m waiting for my master. Baa, baa, baa.

Hi, little dog! How are you?
Very well, thank you.
Why are you looking up on the roof?
The cat is sitting there. Woof, woof, woof.

Hi, little cat! How are you?
I am fine, thank you.
Come here and play with me right now.
I’m lying in the sun. Miaow, miaow, miaow.

Hi, little hen! How are you?
I am fine, thank you.
Why are you walking there in the yard?
I’m looking for some grains. Cluck, cluck, cluck.

Hi, little pig! How are you?
I am fine, thank you.
Why are you shining like a golden coin?
I’ve found a real one. Oink, oink, oink.

Farm Animals Worksheets

There are, of course, some worksheets to remember farm animals in English.

Worksheet 1: The first task is to circle the animal that is different. This is a very simple worksheet for children who don’t know the ABC yet. That is why it can be given even in preschool. Ask older learners to find a different animal and explain their choice using as an example the following sentence:

This sheep is different because it has got a flower.

This Scary Night – Halloween Song for Kids

Halloween is coming! This holiday is not only for ghosts and monsters but also for little kids. This is a joyful time of singing and sweets. That’s why I wrote a special song for this day about spooky spirits and wicked witches. This song is very optimistic. It tells, of course, about evil creatures gathering to their feast, but it also stresses happy feelings among children in spite of all their fears. I hope this song will help you create a merry atmosphere in your classroom as well as help kids overcome all their fears.

Halloween Song Lyrics

It’s Halloween, it’s Halloween,
The ghosts are flying in the wind,
There is no light,
Only pumpkin’s bright,
Oh, this night, this scary night.

There are witches in the air,
Evil spirits everywhere,
Creepy monsters walking by,
Gloomy moon is in the sky.

It’s Halloween, it’s Halloween,
The ghosts are flying in the wind,
There is no light,
Only pumpkin’s bright,
Oh, this night, this scary night.

Fancy dresses we have on,
Treat or treating time! Come on!
Give us sweets and bubble gum,
We are ready for some fun.

It’s Halloween, it’s Halloween,
The ghosts are flying in the wind,
There is no light,
Only pumpkin’s bright,
Oh, this night, this scary night.

Here are also some worksheets to remember the Halloween vocabulary.

Worksheet 1: This is a counting worksheet for children to count all the evil creatures and match the quantity with the number. There are two variants of this task. The first one presents numbers as numeric symbols, while the second one gives them as words.
