When students are trying to match pictures of fruits and vegetables with the hidden words in word search puzzles, they train their spelling, learn to recognize words and develop concentration skills. I do my best to design colorful word search puzzle for every major topic we learn in the classroom. My students love such challenging activities. Ss: cards №№77-78 include words with the sound [s] at the beginning and the end of the words as well as when it occurs due to the double ss. Card №79 contains words where the letter S produces the sound [s] at the endings after voiceless consonants. Cards №№80-81 present words in which S gives the sound [z] when it occurs between two vowels and in the endings after vowels and voiced consonants. Card №82 offers words in which the letter S is pronounced as [ʃ]. Cards №№83-92 contain the blends sc, sk, sl, sm, sn, sp, st, sw, sh. Cards №№93-96 present the three letter blends spl, scr, spr, str. Card №97 presents the phonogram -sion which gives the sound [ʒn] while card №98 presents the same phonogram -sion which gives the sound [ʃn]. Card №99 includes words with the silent S.

Clothes and Accessories Dominoes. Part 1.

Playing games is one way to make kids fall in love with learning English. It is especially important for ESL and EFL educators who teach the language to non-native speakers at early stages of studying English. The key to success with young students is to make the learning process as less boring as possible because games and fun activities are the most natural way of learning things for kids. This is the reason why I introduce games to every series of lessons dedicated to a particular topic. We have been talking about the topic of clothes and accessories recently. I'm sure these colorful flashcards will make it easier for Chinese kids to remember English words that may look as strange and difficult for them as Chinese characters look to people from Europe and America. Those cards helps English teachers understand a little bit of Chinese too as they contain the pinyin transcription of Chinese words. This may help teachers that speak no Chinese better understand students' responses and evaluate whether they memorize the English vocabulary correctly. I'm starting with wild animals flashcards because are the most beloved creatures for the kids around the globe. There are so many animated movies and children's books about animals that it makes lots of sense to start learning English with names of animals.
