I have already published my songs about animals (such as Arctic Animals Song, Forest Animals Song, and Sea Animals Song) along with some printable worksheets, clip arts and other teaching materials. A lot of my printables such as letter tracing worksheets and coloring pages feature animals. It is never enough animals when teaching English to kids. There are so many children’s books, songs, movies and other entertainment and educational stuff featuring animals that those creatures became the number one topic whenever an educator wants to teach kids something. And young students truly love animals. Who doesn’t really? Animals are fun! If you want a kid to memorize something for as long as possible, make sure to involve a cute and fluffy creature into the learning process. Use pictures of animals, books and songs about them, animal puppets or even bring a small pet to the classroom. Lots of positive emotions and thus enhanced memory are guaranteed whenever animals are involved for educating kids.
No wonder educators and parents start teaching English (or any other foreign language for that matter) to children with introducing names of animals. Learning those names paves the way for further mastering of the language. Animals being adorable and useful, people generate a lot of content around them starting from folklore to colorful encyclopedias and nature shows. Therefore the animals topic may stretch from basic animal names spelling exercises all the way to advanced discussions of animal protagonist books and movies as well as writing essays on endangered species and other wildlife issues of the modern world.
So my animals kit offers English teachers the following printable materials to introduce and help kids memorize 116 animal names in English:
