I use flashcards a lot for my English classes. Especially when I introduce new vocabulary to my students. I design my own printable flashcards and try to make them as bright and interesting as I can in order to grab kids’ attention and thus help them better memorize new words. I have created as many as 135 colorful flashcards featuring animals. They help me introduce more than 100 names of animals in English. As a rule, I design flashcards with a cut-out part to separate a word from the corresponding picture. This allows me to organize some simple word-to-picture matching exercises from time to time. I will be creating individual blog posts sharing my printable flashcards for each of the following animal types: African animals, Australian animals, farm animals, pets, polar animals, sea animals, birds, insects. I want to start sharing printable animal flashcards with those featuring polar animals. The flashcards are good for introducing the following vocabulary: arctic fox, orca (killer whale), narwhal, penguin, polar bear, seal, snowy owl, walrus.
